Why is it important to be able to speak English in the workplace?

In today's era, English has become the main bridge connecting us to various worlds, one of which is the business world or other sectors. English is not just for style, but has become a basic requirement when we work in local and international companies. This is because in the business world, many local companies collaborate with foreign companies, which of course use English for communication.

In fact, people who are proficient in English have more career opportunities and are more competitive than those who cannot speak English. So, English is not just a matter of being smart, but it also makes it easier for us to compete in the global workplace.

  1. English = The Language of Global Business

English is an international language and the primary language of the business world. It is used almost everywhere in the world, but unfortunately, few Indonesians can speak English, so Indonesia ranks low compared to other ASEAN countries.

This means that job seekers or young professionals who want to work must improve their English skills so that they can compete with foreign workers. Even though we only work in Indonesia, if the company has a global network, English skills are still key.

  1. Open more doors for career and relationships

English can also help us build broader career connections. If you can speak English, opportunities for cooperation and job offers in foreign countries are much greater.

Therefore, English is not just a plus but has become a requirement if you want to have a good and growing career.

English language skills demonstrate professionalism and readiness to compete on the world stage.
