I’m confident that English has become the international language and is crucial in today’s workforce. Just imagine, many companies now operate globally and use English as their primary language. By mastering English, I’m sure I can enhance my communication skills with colleagues, clients, and business partners from various countries. Furthermore, proficiency in English can also increase my career opportunities.

There’s so much information, reports, and articles written in English. For example, if I work in fields like technology, finance, or marketing, almost all the references and trend updates are in English. If I don't know English, I won’t be able to access the latest information and will fall behind. That’s why English is so important, so I can more easily understand and keep up with the global developments in the workplace. You don’t want to be the person who’s not up-to-date, right? When applying for a job, especially at large companies, many require applicants to be proficient in English. In fact, some foreign companies or multinational corporations often administer English tests as part of their hiring process.

With strong English skills, I definitely have an edge over other candidates who are not fluent in English. This means the better my English proficiency, the greater my chances of being hired or even promoted. Have you ever imagined having to communicate with clients or colleagues from abroad who don’t speak Indonesian? We might end up not understanding the direction of a project or the agreements being discussed. This is where English plays a big role. By mastering English, we can communicate smoothly, understand instructions clearly, and avoid miscommunication that could be detrimental. So, if we want to work effectively with an international team, learning English is a step we can’t delay any longer. However, people often feel insecure about their English skills. I’m one of them. I frequently face challenges like confusing vocabulary, different pronunciations, and most importantly, the fear of making mistakes when speaking or writing.

Learning English isn’t easy, especially when it’s not our first language. But it’s never too late to start. By learning step by step—like starting with watching movies or reading articles in English, or taking a course to improve your skills—you’ll make progress. Remember, every effort you put in now will have a big impact in the future. So, why not start now? By learning English, you’re not only preparing yourself to be more ready for the workforce, but also opening up many bigger opportunities.

So, I’ve made English a priority in my life. I will continue to hone my English skills, and I’m confident that I can achieve my goals. ENGLISH IS NO LONGER A BARRIER, BUT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ME AND ALL OF US TO GROW!
